KUCHING: With Chinese New Year (the Year of the Rat) just around the corner, Green Road Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) has distributed about 500 gifts to the public.

Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) deputy secretary-general (cum PBB Satok deputy chief) Datuk Ibrahim Baki, who represented Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, distributed the gifts at Thompson Corner, Jalan Nanas here, yesterday.

The ceremony was organised by Green Road JKKK headed by its chairman Joseph Tan.

Also present at the ceremony were a political secretary of the chief minister, Samad Gani, who is also education bureau chairman for PBB Satok; PBB Satok youth chief Dzamaluddin Zainudin; chairman of Green Road JKKK, Kapitan Tan Kok Chiang; Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Batu Lintang chairman, Sih Hua Tong; president of Federation of Chinese Association of Kuching, Samarahan and Serian Division, Datuk Richard Wee; executive advisor of the Federation of Chinese Association of Kuching, Samarahan and Serian Division, Michael Teo; and chairman of Chung Hua No. 1-6 management board Datuk Wong Tiong Hook.
