MUKAH: Tellian assemblyman Yussibnosh Balo is urging the Sarawak government to consider providing incentives to media personnel.

He said it was their duty to report and disseminates information on the Covid-19 pandemic and they also faced risks.

“Perhaps the incentive could keep their spirits up and motivate them to provide better and comprehensive coverage on current affairs,” he said to New Sarawak Tribune via WhatsApp yesterday.

He was asked to comment on the Sarawakku Sayang Special Aid Package worth more than RM1.15 billion announced by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg in Kuching on Monday.

The aid is aimed at helping Sarawakians face the economic uncertainties aggravated by the pandemic, which led to the Sarawak government enforcing the movement control order from March 18 to 31.
