LIMBANG: A 41-year-old housewife from Jalan Batu Biah who was caught with 5.03g of syabu yesterday was believed to be selling the drugs with her husband.

According to district police chief Supt Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad, the female suspect was detained during an operation carried out by the Narcotics Crime Investigation Division (NCID) at 9.05am that day at Tasik Mas parking lot.

“Upon inspecting her car, our team found five translucent packets and 12 straw tube segments containing substance believed to be methamphetamine,” he said.

The seized items are estimated to be worth RM750.

The suspect is detained under Section 39A (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Following the arrest, police later brought in her 29-year-old husband in Batu Biah for questioning.

“The husband tested positive for drugs,” he said.

The offence is framed under Section 15(1)(a)of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

The husband revealed that he purchased the supply (drugs) from a man known as ‘Abang Daim’ from Kampung Limpaku once a week.

Both husband and his wife are currently being detained at Limbang Narcotics Crime Investigation office for questioning.

They both have no previous records in drug-related offences.
