Zero new cases for Sarawak

KUCHING: The state recorded zero new Covid-19 cases on Saturday (Nov 28).

With this, State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said there were no additional cases to the six existing active clusters in Sarawak, with the total number of Covid-19 cases remaining at 1,062.

The committee also informed that there were two newly recovered and discharged cases from Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).

“This brings the cumulative total of recovered and discharged cases to 1,020 or 96.05 percent of the total cases recorded in Sarawak,” it said in a statement today.

It added that 23 patients are currently receiving treatments at isolation wards in hospitals, namely 20 in SGH, two in Sibu Hospital and one in Miri Hospital.

It mentioned that a total of 24 new persons-under-investigation (PUIs) were reported while two PUIs are currently awaiting laboratory test results.

SDMC also informed that 491 new persons-under-surveillance (PUS) had been checked into quarantine centres to undergo quarantine.

“This brings the current total number of PUS at 38 hotels and non-hotel quarantine centres statewide to 3,846 persons, while 34,318 PUS had completed their quarantine period.”

Additionally, SDMC noted that Kuching and Miri districts are still yellow zones with 16 and three locally transmitted cases reported in the respective districts in the last 14 days.
