SIBU: Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Dudong Branch chairman Wong Ching Yong has vowed to bring back development to Dudong constituency if given the mandate by voters in the coming state election.

Wong claimed that since former Dudong assemblyman Datuk Dr Soon Choon Teck retired in 2011, the area had not been well taken care of by his successor.

The current assemblyman for Dudong is Datuk Tiong Thai King who won the seat in the 2016 state election on SUPP ticket but has left the party to join Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB).

Wong said during his many visits to longhouses in the constituency, he found that many villages were without electricity, water supply and poor road condition.

“The answer to all these problems is to have an assemblyman in Dudong who must be from SUPP – GPS (Gabungan Parti Sarawak),” he said at the handing over of Letter of Approval for Loan Application for longhouse building materials from the Ministry of Local Government and Housing through the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) to Rumah Jackson Jelan, Mile 16 Jalan Oya here on Sunday.
