KUCHING: When the final of TVS’ TVSTARZ competition came to its conclusion, Jazper Nimoi emerged as the champion, taking home a prize of RM30,000 and a trophy.
TVS in a statement on Tuesday (June 15) stated that Jazper who ranked in second place for weeks in a row stole the spotlight with the song ‘I Have Nothing’ by Whitney Houston.
“TVSTARZ has finally come to an end with stunning performances by the members of Dream Team. After thirteen weeks of intense and exciting competition between five finalists, Jazper was crowned as champion in the first season of TVSTARZ.
“Jazper was born in 1990 and he is from Kuching. He had won amazing awards in the past including the champion of Dama 2013 as well as the first runner-up on TV3’s stage for Digi Celebriteen 2006 and 2007.
“He had also won a studio recording session with Malaysia’s famous composer, Aubrey Suwito,” TVS said.
TVS added that Jazper was previously known as the ‘Second Place King’, but he had proven himself as a champion material with his incredible final stage.
One of TVSTARZ jury Yudhi Seriestha had praised Jazper and said his performance in the final was the best among all of the songs he had previously performed.
“In second place, Fanzi won the prize of RM15,000 with his performance of ‘Bukan Dia Tapi Aku by Judika’. It was a shocking change of result, but Fanzi had settled in the top three even though he had only recently joined the Dream Team.
“Andrey was in third place and won the prize of RM10,000 with the song ‘All of Me by John Legend’,” TVS said.
