Video contest to promote Sarawak tourism

KUCHING: Prizemoney amounting to RM21,500 is up for grabs in a short tourism video contest entitled ‘Unveil the Land of Hornbill’.

The contest is being organised by the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Sarawak (ACCCIS) in collaboration with Sin Chew Daily as its designated media partner.

ACCCIS in a statement stated that the purpose of organising the short video contest is to promote the favourite tourist destinations.

“In a wider context, the purpose of the contest is to invigorate the recovery and development of tourism industry in Sarawak.

“Winning entries will be used as a medium of publicity to introduce the famous and undiscovered tourist attractions, historical sites and local delicacies in Sarawak,” it said on Friday (March 11).

ACCCIS disclosed that the video contest which is open to all Sarawakians for free also aims to encourage Sarawakians to play a part in promoting the local tourism industry through their short video, adding that participants of local video makers, YouTubers and students are welcomed.

The contest is offering RM10,000 as first prize, RM6,000 for second, RM3,000 as third prize and five consolation prizes of RM500 each.

“All submissions must be uploaded to the Google Form Link set up by the organiser before 4pm on June 30 this year,” it added.

ACCCIS explained that the best pixel resolution for the video entries is 1920×1080 in MP4 format of 16:3 landscape aspect and the duration of the video clips should be at least 3 minutes long, but not exceeding 1GB of the video file size.

“Winners will be informed by the organiser due course. More information on the video contest including the terms and conditions are available on our official website (http://www.acccis.org.my.), it said.
