With the chain of businesses doing well, the Tasik Biru assemblyman stated that there are more people taking jobs in the district.

He said this enables the local community to have purchasing power because they are working and having income.

“Bau is growing with the various and upcoming tourist products and landmarks in the past five to six years. As such, we can see the impact on the local community’s economy,” he said today.

While there are no specific statistics on the number of visitors available, Jinep said it is estimated approximately 6,000 to 10,00 visitors based on the ticket sales for the boat rides and pontoon crossing during festive seasons.

He said previously visitors would come to Bau for day trips, but they are now able to stay overnight with the ability of accommodation.

“Based on the estimation of 6,000 to 10,000 visitors paying to walk across the Tasik Biru and use the boats, the operators are making RM6,000 to RM10,000 in a week.

“This is very good and I am very pleased with this,” he added.
