KUCHING: The Malaysian Pepper Board has embarked on enhancing research collaboration, quality and white pepper development.

To meet this objective it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Unimas Holdings Sdn Bhd, Malaysian Space Agency (MYSA), and Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak.

The signing of the MoU was held at the Pesta Lada 2022 at the Waterfront Hotel here witnessed by Datuk Willie Mongin,

The MoU with Unimas Holdings is related to the Internet of Things (IOT) Application In The Production of White Peppercorns, while the MoU with MYSA will ensure a map of pepper plantation areas throughout Malaysia.

Malaysian Pepper Board will continue its collaborations with Swinburne University of Technology in three research projects to increase pepper management and pepper’s usage in the industry.

The event also witnessed, Willie presenting Pepper Entrepreneur Sponsorship Schemes to three recipients, Zias Catering, Sophia Taha Holdings Sdn Bhd and Leni Spice Sdn Bhd.

Present at the ceremony was Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman, Lo Khere Chiang, Deputy Secretary, Mad Zaid Mod Karli, Malaysian Pepper Board chairman (MPB), Baharuddin Datuk Mokhsen, MPB Director Dr Abang Azhari Hadari.
