KUCHING: The enchanting Christmas spirit has descended upon Kuching as The Spring Shopping Mall dazzled visitors with its whimsical Willy Wonka-themed Christmas decorations.

The grand Christmas lighting ceremony witnessed the presence of Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian and Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng. The grand Christmas lighting ceremony on Friday (November 17) witnessed the presence of Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian and Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng.

The ceremony was filled with joyous Christmas carolling by the Kingdomcity Kuching Church, marking the start of the festive shopping season at the mall.

Under the theme “A Wonkaful Christmas,” the mall invites visitors on a magical journey inspired by Roald Dahl’s classic “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” centred around the iconic Willy Wonka.

The campaign is in collaboration with Warner Bros. Malaysia Sdn Bhd, as the highly anticipated Christmas movie, “Wonka” is set to open in Malaysia cinemas this coming December 7, with visitors will have the chance to snag tickets to the Premiere Screening of Wonka on December 5 and all they have to do is participate in the Social Media Giveaway on the Spring’s Facebook Page and Instagram account.

Commencing on November 17 and continuing until December 25, visitors can partake in the Oompa Loompa Hunt, an engaging activity spread across the mall’s Wonka-inspired setup. Seek out the hidden Oompa Loompa and relish the enchantment.

In the spirit of Christmas compassion, The Spring has collaborated with Hope Place Kuching for a heartwarming Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, celebrating the 10th anniversary of Hope Place Kuching.
