PAKAN: Pakan assemblyman Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom strongly urged Sarawakians to strictly abide by all the rules that have been set in an effort to break the Covid-19 chain.

Describing the pandemic as devastating, he said the people could help stop Covid-19 by adopting the new norms into their lifestyle.

“Only leave home if you have important business to attend to and do not forget to wear a face mask. Other than that, please stay at home.

“At the same time, apart from practising physical distancing, we should also take care of personal hygiene — make sure hands are washed with soap and water or use hand sanitisers regularly.

“Continue to practise the new norms until a vaccine has been found,” he said in an event at Rumah Lembang Datu in Julau here on Monday.

Mawan also advised the public to use their smartphones to scan the MySejahtera QR code and get their body temperature checked before entering any premises to make it easier for authorities to detect individuals at risk.

On another note, the Pakan assemblyman also called on the residents in his constituency to continue to give their undivided support to the state government under the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) leadership as the party has brought much development in this state for the benefit of the people.

Also present was Pakan assistant district officer Yalin Asan.
