TEBEDU: An afternoon fire partially damaged the kitchen of a house in Kampung Gahat Mawang here yesterday (Sept 27).
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported in the 1.40 pm incident.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Serian station were despatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call.
On arrival, they found that the flames had been extinguished by the villagers with water from the pipe.
The team only carried out inspection to ensure that the situation was safe and installed safety barriers at the scene.
The cause of the fire as well as losses incurred are still being ascertained.
