AirAsia introduces more flights for midnight travellers

KUCHING: AirAsia is offering additional midnight flights during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri festival from Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru to Kuching, Miri and Sibu.

The additional flights are available a week before and after Raya, said the airline’s Sarawak affairs officer Hamdan Mohamad.

He advised travellers to book return tickets if there are still flight tickets priced at RM199.

“The flights are for routes form Kuala Lumpur or Johor Bahru to Kuching, Sibu and Miri.

“Although it seems to be a last minute chance to buy flight tickets, you may do so as there might still be flight tickets that could be purchase at affordable prices.

“Grab this opportunity to return to your hometown and fly back to work (in Malaya) after Raya,” he said.

He said this after AirAsia iftar session with the media last night night at a hotel here.

Hamdan also advised passengers to buy add-on luggage (allowance) if they plan to bring extra luggage.

He urged domestic travellers to arrive at the airport at least two hours earlier, and three hours earlier for international flights

“Do make early preparations, arrive at the airport earlier and travel light,” he added.

The fast-breaking session with the media which involved more that 50 journalists was held for the first time here after the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We are very happy that we can organise iftar with the media in Kuching,” he said.
