Approved 945 projects in 11MP worth RM20 bln

KUCHING: Under the state-funded 11th Malaysia Plan (11MP) projects, a revised total of 945 projects with a ceiling of RM20 billion were approved for implementation for the period 2016 to 2020.

This was said by Second Minister of Finance Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh during his winding-up speech at the State Legislative Assembly sitting here yesterday.

“Out of the 945 projects, 464 are physical projects while the remaining 481 are non-physical projects such as grants, contributions, investments, and programmes,” he said.

He revealed that as of 31 March this year, 85 out of 464 physical projects have been completed while the remaining 379 are still in various stages of implementation.

Wong added that over the same period, the cumulative expenditure was RM5.03 billion against the total ceiling of RM20 billion of the 11MP.

“As for the performance of the federal funded projects in the state for the same period, a total of 520 projects were approved for implementation under the 11MP’s Second Rolling Plan.

“As of March this year, 41 projects of the total projects have been completed whereas the remaining 479 are still in various stages of implementation.

“For the same period, cumulative expenditure of RM771 million out of the total allocation of RM4.44 billion under the Second Rolling Plan has been expended,” he said.
