MIRI: Three individuals, including a woman, broke into a rented room of a budget hotel here at Jalan Lee Tak on Monday night (1 Feb) to assault a 30-year-old female guest.

The woman then proceeded to accuse the guest of trying to snatch her boyfriend.

During the incident which occurred around 8pm on Monday, the guest was alone in the room as she had just arrived in the city from Lambir. She wanted to meet a man she had befriended for only two months but did not know he already had a girlfriend.

Besides assaulting her, the trio allegedly also threatened to kill her. While in the room, they damaged her belongings as well.
