MUKAH: Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi recently spent time to mingle with trainees from Mukah Setia Raja Football Development Academy at Padang Mesra MDDM here on Thursday.

The former Dalat and Mukah District Council (MDDM) walikota was welcomed by the academy’s coach Jamal Wasli, who is also a former state football player in the 1980’s.

Abdul Yakub’s presence clearly showed his concerns for the youth and their activities.

Trainees of the academy took the opportunity to get to know their people’s representative and asked him about relevant matters including sports.

Abdul Yakub, who is also Mukah Parliament Youth Organisation (MPYO) advisor, was happy with the existence of the academy, which he believed would help in developing football here.

MPYO oversees the daily operation of Mukah Youth Activity Centre which is housed at the former MDDM office here.
