KUCHING: Those interested in joining the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) are urged to apply as full-time fire officer.
For the position of Fire Officer Grade KB 19, applicants must have at least a Grade C in Bahasa Melayu in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)/Sijil Vokasional Malaysia (SVM) or equivalent.
The position of auxiliary firefighters is also open for those who have Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) or equivalent.
Applicants must be age 18 and above to apply for both positions.
They must at least 1.57m tall for men and 1.53m tall for women. The men must weigh at least 47kg and women, 46kg, and a body mass index (BMI) of between 19 and 26.
Male applicants must have a chest measurement of at least 81cm, and 86cm when inhaling.
Eye tests will also be conducted, for left and right eye without wearing spectacles.
