MIRI: Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin believes that besides helping single mothers improve their cooking or baking skills, food courses also help them find jobs or start their own small businesses.

Therefore, he encourages them to take up food courses.

Lee made the call at the closing of a Homa Pizza making course conducted by Miri Community College at the college premises.

A total of 27 mothers and children attended the course and successfully made their own pizzas.

Lee added he was willing to assist single mothers in liaising with the respective institutions to conduct the relevant training that they were interested in.

“With mothers and their children undergoing training together, this will also help to create stronger bonding between them,” he pointed out.

He added that besides learning how to make pizzas for their own consumption, the children could also sell them online.
