MIRI: A family cat was believed to have been wholly swallowed by a python weighing 10 kilogramme this morning (Oct 23). This was after the kitten went missing since morning.

The mysterious disappearance of the family kitten unfolded, after the owner discovered an eight-metre long python curling on a rack inside the store room of the house with bulging belly around 11.40am the same day.

Such discovery was made at a house at Kampung Charcoal Plant, Jalan Miri Pujut here.

It was said that the kitten, a beloved family pet, had gone missing since early morning.

“Judging by the huge bulge of its stomach, you could tell that the snake was stuffed due to having swallowed something big,” said the house owner, a 25 year-old woman who wished to be anonymous.

Upon the discovery, she immediately called up Miri Civil Defence force (APM) for help.

According to Miri APM officer Usman Harto, upon responding to the alert, three Miri APM personnel led by Mariani Eddy rushed to the scene and they managed to secure the store room at 12.57pm after catching the reptile.
