KUCHING: Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, Michael Tiang, expressed his sympathy with Abdul Aziz Isa, the special assistant to Sarawak DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen, for condemning the line-up of the recent Pakatan Harapan Presidential Council where there is no Sarawak DAP representative.

Tiang, who is also a member of Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Central Working Committee, called on Chong and Sarawak DAP to sever their ties with peninsula DAP and quit Pakatan Harapan (PH).

He said Chong should wake up as he should realise by now that DAP Sarawak was never considered as part of Pakatan Harapan.

“There is no hope for them in the peninsula-based opposition coalition. Chong should dissolve Sarawak DAP and form Sarawak-based party to fight for the rights and interests of Sarawak,” said Tiang.

Pointing out that during past general elections, he said peninsula-based DAP leaders would always tell Sarawakians that ‘change’ will come to Sarawak, but when it comes to power sharing, they always forget about Sarawakians.

Dr Mahathir, PH adviser, in his recent statement to the press even said that even if Pakatan Harapan were to form the next government, DAP leaders would have no chance to be the Prime Minister or Deputy Prime Minister despite being the largest component in PH.

“In the 13th general election, DAP won all Chinese majority seats. It is undeniable fact that DAP drew its strengths from the Chinese community. They even proclaimed that Lim Kit Siang would be the DPM if Pakatan Rakyat won.

“However, this round when the issue of potential candidates for Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister had been brought up in Pakatan Harapan, DAP just kept quiet and be subservient. It must be pointed out that Chong always accused SUPP for being submissive to UMNO,” said Tiang.

He challenged Chong to say ‘No’ to Pakatan Harapan and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia.
