SARIKEI: Methodist Iban Church and Life Baptist Church here received RM100,000 each last Saturday.
Repok assemblyman Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii announced these allocations under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) during his visit to both churches.
“Religious beliefs should be respected and I will try to apply for allocations so that it can improve the facilities of the church,” Huang said.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson of one of the churches said that Huang is a people’s representative who cares about the needs of the people and is willing to go to the ground to understand and solve problems faced by churches.
“We are very grateful to have a representative who cares about the needs of the people. And we also thank the YB (Huang) for helping us,” said the spokesman.
