Collaborative effort seeks sustainable growth for PERKATA children

KUCHING: Green Generation, Sarawak Association for the Welfare of Intellectually Disabled Children (PERKATA) and OCI Group recently formalised their collaboration through the signing of a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The objective of this MoU is to promote the use of clean energy and establish a collaborative system through programme exchange, fostering cooperation between all parties.

PERKATA president Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr Abdul Aziz Dato Husain highlighted that the tripartite collaboration will enhance the facilities, services, and teaching systems provided to their mentally challenged children.

“With the exchange of programmes and infusion of new ideas that comes with this collaboration, we hope our children can be better prepared for the future.

“We believe this initiative will create a more inclusive and sustainable environment for their growth and development,” he said during the MoU signing ceremony held at Grand Margherita Hotel here today (November 18).

Meanwhile, Green Generation Sdn Bhd founder and chairman Puan Sri Datin Amar Nur Ashima Aziz said the partnership acts as ground for corporations, social enterprises, associations and schools to come together for a common cause.

“By integrating OCI group’s experience and technology expertise, we also aim to create a positive and lasting impact on both the environment and the lives of the children under PERKATA,” she added.

This tripartite partnership aims to leverage OCI Group’s expertise in silicon chips and chemical for solar panels, Green Generation’s commitment to promote environmental sustainability to help PERKATA increase its cost efficiency by introducing solar energy in its operations.

Thus, this collaboration will also enable PERKATA to allocate more resources towards the needs of their students and assist in raising funds through activities and events with collaboration with other organisations.

The MoU signing ceremony earlier also saw OCIM Sdn Bhd donating RM10,000 to PERKATA to help fund its operations.

Also present were Vice President of OCI Group Korea Seong Kwang Hyeon.
