CONNECTED unites musicians for collaboration

KUCHING: The music community in Kuching and Pontianak is coming together for an event called CONNECTED, organised by RECHAUS at their establishment from August 2 to August 5.

Andro Keebox, founder and director at RECHAUS, announced in a press release on Wednesday(August 2) that CONNECTED is a collaborative platform aimed at fostering connections and collaborations among musicians, industry professionals, and music enthusiasts.

The event offers a unique opportunity for participants to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and promote original music.

“The event will bring together musicians, industry professionals, and music enthusiasts from both Kuching and Pontianak.

“CONNECTED has a clear goal of creating lasting connections and providing a platform for collaboration, skill development, and cultural exchange among the music communities.

“The event will feature a dynamic lineup of activities, including live performance sharing sessions, audio engineering sessions, music production sessions, and a performance showcase event,” he said.

The highlight of CONNECTED will be the performance showcase event on August 5, where the event will showcase performances by two Indonesian bands, two local solo artists, and two local bands from Sarawak.

He expressed his excitement about the event, emphasizing its role in facilitating collaborations, knowledge-sharing, and the promotion of original music.

“CONNECTED offers a unique opportunity for participants to connect, learn, and showcase their talent, ultimately fostering a vibrant and diverse music community.

“We aim to attract musicians, industry professionals, and music enthusiasts from the local community, promoting original music and embracing new technologies,” he explained.

The organizers are dedicated to creating lasting connections between the music communities of Kuching, Sarawak, and Pontianak, Indonesia.

Syed Rusydie, Managing Director and co-founder of HAUS KCH, also shared his thoughts on the event, expressing hope to see more international-level collaborations and performances in Sarawak.

“As a space provider, we’re doing our part to facilitate such initiatives, of which we hope to see more from our fellow Borneans and beyond.”
