Corporation donates substantially to Tanjung Manis residents

KUCHING: Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC) alongside its subsidiary company recently donated RM100,000 to residents in several villages in Tanjung Manis.

Those recipients consist of 1150 residents comprising destitute group (asnaf), elderly, single mothers, orphans, persons with disabilities and others.

The donation was also immediately handed over to Kuala Rajang welfare bureau for synchronisation and distribution to the respective recipients.

Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment of Sarawak Datuk Len Talif Salleh who is also member of STIDC (PUSTAKA) board of directors stated that it has been doing it (giving donation) for almost 21 years.

“The programme is part of their corporate social responsibilities (CSR) every year for residents of Tanjung Manis and among the areas involved are Kampung Rajang, Belawai, Stalun, Sebayang and Bukit Kinyau

“We hope that this would reduce their burden and strengthen the bond between all of the residents,” he said.

He said this during the press conference of the donation at Wisma Sumber Alam in Kuching yesterday.

He also hoped that the programme would be continued by the company and its subsidiary in the future.

Also present during the ceremony was general manager of PUSAKA Datuk Hashim Bojet, chief operation officer of PUSAKA Mohamad Nor Topek Julaihi alongside other distinguished guest.
