Council told to tighten SOPs

MIRI: Miri City Council (MCC) has been told to tighten the standard operating procedures (SOPs), especially in public areas such as in open markets and food stalls.

Lee, who is Transport Minister and minister in-charge of Miri Division Disaster Management Committee, issued the order after visiting several markets and eateries in  the city today.

“Strengthen the SOP compliance in these areas and put up more Covid-19 safety signs to remind the public that they need to comply with the SOPs,” he said.

During a visit to the Miri Central Market which was currently undergoing renovation, the minister

was accompanied by the key  members of Miri Divisional Disaster Committee, namely acting Miri Resident Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusuf, Miri deputy police chief Supt Sabri Zainol,  Rela head, a Fire and Rescue Department representative, MCC engineers and enforcement officers.

Lee also reminded the public to wear their face masks properly and to always follow the SOPs set by the government.
