Courtesy calls on Head of State

KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Seri Abdul Taib Mahmud yesterday received two courtesy visits at the Astana here.

The first visit was from committee members of  the Borneo International Kite Festival 2019 led by Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) deputy chairman Haidar Khan Asghar Khan.

The visit was to invite Taib and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib to grace the festival which will be held from Sept 29 in Bintulu.

Also present were BDA general manager Rodziah Morshidi and deputy Resident Hussaini Hakim.

The second visit was from the Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) mayor Datuk Junaidi Reduan in conjunction with his recent appointment as the seventh mayor of DBKU.

Junaidi, a retired senior civil servant with the state government, was sworn in on Sept 5.

Junaidi was accompanied by a delegation which included DBKU director Dr Morshidi Ahmad, DBKU principal deputy director Mohamed Khaidir Abang and DBKU commissioners Datuk Grunsin Ayom and Datin Mary Sadiah Zainuddin.
