Deputy Minister launches Serian Kitchen for local businesses

SERIAN: ‘Serian Kitchen’ programme has received a great response from local entrepreneurs and the community.

Deputy Minister of Food Industry, Commodity, and Regional Development (MFICORD) Martin Ben said the programme can boost the economy and promote local food and handicrafts.

He said this when launching the ‘Serian Kitchen’ at the Serian Conference Centre (SCC) today (July 14).

The event is taking place over three days, from July 14 to 16. It features 43 local entrepreneurs offering various products such as ‘Jualan Rahmah’, local foods, beverages, dry food products, and even food trucks.

During the event, Martin had the opportunity to ride a hydrogen bus and explore the SCC compound.

Also present were Greater Kuching Coordinated Development Agency (GKCDA) Special Administrative Officer, Datuk Ik Pahon Joyik, Serian Division Resident, Selamat Jati Yanjah, Serian District Officer and Serian District Council chairman, Lim Hock Meng, Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment officer, Salbiah Saji and Serian District Council acting secretary, Collin John Sitin.
