Awang Tengah visits family coping after fire.

LAWAS: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan extended his heartfelt concerns to the victims of a devastating fire that engulfed a wooden house in Kampung Batu Tiga, Jalan Trusan, on Saturday (Jan 20).

Taking a compassionate approach, the Bukit Sari assemblyman devoted an hour to connecting with the affected family, expressing his solidarity, and providing words of encouragement.

Additionally, Awang Tengah offered personal assistance to those grappling with the aftermath of the incident that occurred on Tuesday (Jan 16).

During the visit, Lawas fire station chief Azman Ibrahim briefed Awang Tengah on the details of the fire incident and the subsequent establishment of a one-stop centre for the victims.

Accompanying the Deputy Premier were Lawas District Officer Ladin Atok and Political Secretary to the Premier Awangku Jinal Abedin Datuk Pengiran Jawa.

The unfortunate event unfolded on Tuesday at 9.12 am, resulting in the complete destruction of a house in Kampung Batu Tiga.

Out of the ten occupants present during the incident, four managed to escape unharmed.

Regrettably, a 38-year-old woman sustained minor injuries while fleeing the fire. She had received treatment from the Fire and Rescue Department’s (Bomba) Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) on site.
