KUCHING: Exhibitors are all geared up for the Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers’ Association (SHEDA) Property Expo 2022.

Organising chairman John Yong reminded exhibitors and their representatives of the rules and regulations to facilitate the smooth running of booth construction and other related logistics.

“All exhibitors are required to understand and respect the guidelines for the safety of everyone. For that, I believe that our teamwork and cooperation in complying with the guidelines will ensure smooth running of the event, especially since it is the first event ever held after the pandemic,” he said.

He was briefing the expo exhibitors at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) today.

Apart from the highlight of the event where Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg will officiate at the expo on its first day (Sept 30), he said visitors can also look forward to the GoBald Satellite Event that will be held the following day (Oct 1).

“SHEDA Property Expo is partnering Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS) to organise the fundraising event to help children fight cancer.

“Since this too has not been organised since the pandemic, I would like to urge the public, developers and others to support this initiative by donating or signing up to go bald,” he said.

Yong said that to kickstart the fundraising campaign and to encourage more Sarawakians to go bald in support of children with cancer, LaFrowda Properties Sdn Bhd will donate to SCCS RM200 per person for the first 25 people willing to go bald at the SHEDA Property Expo.

Additionally, visitors to the expo will also be able to listen to topics from organisations such as the Kuching Autistic Association (KAA) and Mental Health Awareness Sarawak (MHAS).

“These additional events were introduced to acknowledge the impact of COVID-19 on individuals and the community.

“Although the expo’s main focus is still to showcase various projects and property options under one roof, we are prepared to use the platform to address other needs that affect Sarawakians.

“For that, we will announce more activities that will be organised in the expo soon,” he said.

Meanwhile, Yong added that with only two weeks remaining before the closing of booth sales, there are only 10 booths left for those still interested to participate.

“The fast sell-out of booths this year is a positive sign that purchasers will have plenty of opportunity and choice in selecting a home or investment best suited for their needs,” he said.
