KUCHING : Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd yesterday announced the nine winners of its CyberSAFE in Schools ‘Be Smart, Use Heart’ Video Challenge 2017. Three winners were picked for each categor y Pr imar y , Lower Secondary and Upper Secondary schools at the Anugerah Pembestarian Sekolah 2017 event held recently in Shah Alam.

The two-month video challenge called for all Malaysian primary and secondary students aged 7 to 18 to develop and submit a YouTube video of not more than three minutes that further explore issues related to cyberbullying according to the students’ own interpretation. Each winner walked away with RM400 worth of merchandise from Digi.

For the Primary School Cateogry, Amanda Evita John from SK Tampasuk II, Ki Jing Yang from SJKC Chung Hua and Muhammad Najwan Aiman Abd SAmad from SK Bekoh were picked as the winners.

The titles of their videos were ‘Amanda, ‘Stop Cyber Bully’ and ‘Be Smart, Use Heart : Hentikan Buli Siber’ respectively.

Meanwhile Muhammad Aniq Ihsan Bin Izham from SMK Bukit Gambir, Syed Syazwi Rafiuddin Bin Syed Ibrahim from SMK Taman Desa 2 and Haryz Bin Hanif Suhairi f rom SM Sains Tuanku Syed Putra were the winners of Lower Secondary School category.

Their videos were titled ‘Pembulian Siber di Media Sosial’, CyberSAFE in School ‘Be Smart, Use Heart’ and ‘Fenomena Buli Siber’ respectively. Last but not least, for the Upper Secondary School category, Haziq Mursyidi Bin Hadzri from SMK Syed Sirajuddin was picked as the winner with his video CyberSAFE in Schools while Muhammad Thoha Bin Ismail from SMK Skudai won with his video titled ‘Buli Siber’.

Ahmad Nazrin Shamsudin from SMK Ajil was also the winner of the last category. Through a press statement, Digi’s Programme Manager for CyberSAFE said that this year, we received quite a number of great videos for this challenge and are actually amazed with the creativity and perspective in which the participants discussed cyberbullying and relevant issues in their respective videos.
