KAPIT: Rural communities have been asked not to believe fake news spread by Pakatan Harapan (PH) on social media.

Hulu Rejang MP Datuk Wilson Ugak said PH had been using the social media to attract the younger generations especially into believing the false claims on Gabungan Parti Rakyat Sarawak (GPS) that they have abandoned the people.

MP advises rural folk to check facts first, reject PH propaganda

“People must check the facts before believing something, because it is PH agenda to try to make us weak,” he said during the GPS Flag Rally at Rumah Edison Bugap, in Sungai Melekun, on Monday night.

He added GPS would not be afraid of such tactics and would do its best to serve the people.

“You must reject the propaganda played by PH, especially those involving land issues,” he said.

Wilson said Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah had already settled the issues related to “Pemakai Menoa” (territorial domain) and “Pulau Galau” (communal forest reserve).

“Make sure you get the correct information when you read an article online. If you are not sure, ask us.”

On another note, he said GPS was receiving good response from the people in Sarawak, not only from the Iban community, but the Chinese community as well in Kapit.

“With the growing support from the people, GPS would definitely win in the 2021 state election.”

Ugak later announced an allocation of RM5,000 for the Sungai Melekun neighbourhood committees and village security and development committees (JKKK) to carry out their activities.
