Dr Sim, SUPP members saddened by Dr Wong Soon Kai’s demise

KUCHING: President of Sarawak United People’s Party, Senator Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian expressed his heartfelt sympathy and deepest condolence to Puan Sri Dr Jane Yong and family on the passing of former Deputy Chief Minister and former President of SUPP, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr Wong Soon Kai.

Dr Sim said he and the party members were deeply saddened by the news on the passing of the third party president at 4am yesterday.

“We recalled the late Tan Sri was a party comrade who was always concerned with the welfare of the party and fellow Sarawakians till the end. He was a medical colleague, a great gentleman, a mentor, an inspiring leader and a statesman

who dedicated his whole life to his fellow countrymen. It is truly a great loss to our homeland Sarawak and our country. May his soul rest in peace,” he said.

SUPP Youth Chairman, Tan Kai said he was sad to hear of a comrade’s passing. He said Dr Wong was a leader who was a doctor and always stuck to his principle that party’s interests always come first.

“In his early days as a medical doctor, he always treats the poor people without charging any fee. When the party was down, he urged all members to be united under the party’s flag and put aside personal emotions. I wish his soul will Rest In Peace,” he added.
