Eight senior govt officers call it a day after years of service

KUCHING: The State Executive Council yesterday bid farewell to eight of its senior officers during a retirement appreciation ceremony at Wisma Bapa Malaysia’s Lounge where Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg officiated.

During the event, Abang Johari also presented a plaque from the state government to each of the eight as a token of appreciation and gratitude for their high commitment and dedication while in service.

The eight senior officers are Datuk Sudarsono Osman, former permanent secretary to the Sarawak Technology Science and Technology Education Ministry (40 years of service), Datuk Sutin Shamat, former executive secretary to the Sarawak State Executive Council (38 years of service), Abang Shamsudin Abang Seruji, former director of Sarawak Social Welfare Department (37 years of service), Ipoi Datan, former director of Sarawak Museum Department (36 years of service), Datu Soedirman Aini, former general manager of Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) (23 years of service), Datuk Laura Lee Ngien Hion, former deputy state financial secretary (22 years of service), Datuk Jumastapha Lamat, former state accountant, Department of State Treasury (22 years of service) and Samat Junai, former deputy permanent secretary to the Ministry of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship (MIED) (10 years of service).

Also present were State Secretary Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani, State Human Resources Unit director Ismail Mohamad Hanis, Chief Minister’s Department officials and some members of the state Cabinet.
