KUCHING: Malaysians can enjoy a 50 percent discount on homestay tourism packages nationwide through jomhomestay.my.

Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture (Motac) Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said the jomhomestay.my platform was developed by the Kampungstay and Homestay Association of Malaysia (MKHA) in collaboration with Tourism Malaysia.

“To date, a total of 150 packages have been developed involving 60 clusters of homestay operators with package prices as low as RM80 per person.

“The package is an effort to boost the domestic tourism industry and encourage business digitisation in the industry under the economic stimulus package (PRE) 1.0 initiative,” she disclosed.

She said this during the official launch of Malaysia Homestay Experience Guideline at Pullman Hotel Kuching on Saturday (Nov 27).

Nancy also said that the promotion campaign in the platform would last until Dec 31 this year while the validity period of the package was until Dec 31, 2022.

“For your information, these tourism packages are only available through the www.jomhomestay.my portal.

“On top of that, the homestays listed in this platform are  registered with Motac. Some of them are Homestay Sibuti in Sarawak; Walai Tokou Homestay in Sabah; Labu Kubong Homestay in Perak; Homestay D’pelandok in Negeri Sembilan; Ayer Limau Homestay in Melaka and many more.

“With this, we have high hopes these packages can provide an opportunity for all Keluarga Malaysia to travel within the country and experience for themselves the experience offered in the homestays,” she added.
