Father, daughter among trio held overr drug trafficking

MIRI: A female clerk and two men suspected of being involved in drug trafficking were arrested by police last Tuesday.

Acting on information received, a team from the district’s anti-narcotics police, led by Inspector Wikkram Sandra, raided a house in Krokop here around 10.00am. 

Miri District Deputy Police chief, Superintendent Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said following the raid, drugs believed to be syabu, weighing 79.84 grammes and worth RM15,536, was seized.

“A digital weighing scale and two empty plastic packets that are used for packing drugs have also been seized,” he said here.

Stanley said two of the suspects are father and daughter, aged 55 and 24, and the third suspect, aged 55, is their relative.  “The father and daughter tested negative for drugs while the other was found positive. All three suspect are being detained to facilitate investigation under Section 39B, 39A(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1952,” he said.
