KUCHING: The Hab Distributed Printing Project (Hab DPP) in Sarawak was officially launched by Minister of Welfare, Community Well Being, Women, Family and Childhood Development, Datuk Fatimah Abdullah at the State National Registration Department (NRD) at Bangunan Tuanku Haji Bujang here yesterday.
The project covers six Hab DPP, namely, State NRD in Kuching, Sibu Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) NRD Branch, Miri UTC NRD Branch, NRD Bintulu, NRD Sri Aman and NRD Sarikei, as well as 41 sub Hab.
“Hab DPP is an improvement system of DPP which reduces the completion period of MyKad for those from rural area.
“Before this, the completion period was 10 days in Peninsular Malaysia and 30 days in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan Federal Territory.
“Now, it is five days in Peninsular Malaysia and seven working days in Sabah and Sarawak,” explained Fatimah.
A total of 36 DPP offices have been selected to become Hab DPP throughout the nation to print the MyKad applications from 157 nearby sub Hab.
Meanwhile, Fatimah also revealed that of the 4098 late applications received by the Special Task Force, 2885 had been approved while 1213 were rejected.
Also present were Assistant Minister of Women, Family and Childhood Development, Rosey Yunus, National Registration Department (NRD) Deputy Director-General (Operations), Dato’ Mohd Zahari Hassan and State NRD Director, Jasni Jubli.
