KUCHING: Christmas is not just a celebratory occasion but also serves as a symbol to strengthen bonds and unite communities.

In stating this, Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng said Christmas is also a celebration of love and compassion.

“As we exchange gifts and indulge in festive delights, let us not forget the true essence of Christmas – the spirit of giving, the joy of selflessness and the beauty of unity.

“May the bonds we forge today continue to strengthen and may the goodwill we share extend far beyond the holiday season,” he said at a Christmas Festival held at The Podium here on Friday evening.

Wee added that in the midst of busy lives, the Christmas season also serves as a gentle reminder to pause, reflect and appreciate the moments that truly matter.

“It is a time to express gratitude for the relationships we hold dear and to extend kindness to those around us.
