Fire victims receive RM16,545 aid

OYA: The family of Abdul Rahman Arbie, whose house in Kampung Kuala Tengah here was burnt down recently, received aid amounting to RM16,545 from the State Welfare Department on Saturday.

Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah handed over the aid during her visit to the family here.

The aid was in the form of cash and kind.

The local community and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) also donated to the fire victims.

The donors comprised Skuad Kasih Sayang; Islamic body PERKIM Oya/Dalat; Dalat Delivery; Beliawanis Medong Hilir, Senau, Oya Ronggeng; Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) Brunei; PBB Youth; Pekan Sabtu Oya; Sungai Ud Village Community Welfare Association; JKKK Kuala Tengah; Oya Bomba Community; JKKK Boom; Oya Bazaar and JKKK Teh.

Besides the donors, the Dalat assemblywoman also thanked Mukah Fire and Rescue Department, community Bomba, villagers of Kampung Bakong, Oya Bazaar and Kampung Kuala Tengah for their help in controlling the fire.

No one was hurt in the fire incident on Sept 4.
