MUKAH: All Malaysians should proudly fly the Jalur Gemilang as a sign of love for the country despite the Covid-19 pandemic.

Tellian assemblyman, Yussibnosh Balo said this in his speech during the launch of the Merdeka@Komuniti Convoy organised by the Information Department (JaPen) Mukah at its premises yesterday (Sept 12).

He said that every Malaysian must remember the history of the patriots’ struggles and sacrifices to liberate the country.

“Hoisting the national flag throughout the National Month and during the Malaysia Day celebration is a small yet meaningful contribution if done with the intention of showing love for the country,” he said.

Yussibnosh also advised the people not to believe rumours that Malaysia was in crisis because there were many parties which envied what the country and its people had today.

He also lauded the efforts made by JaPen Mukah in promoting the spirit of patriotism among the people.

Mukah District Officer, Safrie Saili also congratulated JaPen Mukah for conducting numerous programmes to ensure that the National Month and Malaysia Day were celebrated by the people in Mukah.

“While conducting activities like this, we must adhere to the current standard operating procedures (SOPs) and become a good example to the community as civil servants,” he said.

Fifty participants from several government agencies and 15 vehicles participated in the convoy which travelled around the Mukah Town to the Balingian sub-district.

Also present during the launch of the convoy were Mukah district police chief, DSP Mohd Rizal, and department heads.
