KUCHING: A total of 39 households from Kampung No 6 Patingan Satok who were recently affected by the flood here received food aid.
According to Sarawak Public Communications Unit’s (Ukas) report, the assistance was donated by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and Senior Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
The food aid was presented to the flood victims at the Darulhana Patingan Mosque, in Kampung No 6 last Saturday (Jan 30).
Also present at the simple handover ceremony were Kampung No 6 village chief Mustapha Wahap, Kampung No 6 Women Branch chief Rokiah Bujang and other members of Kampung No 6 village development and security committee (JKKK).
On Jan 13, several areas in Kuching District including Kampung No 6 and its surrounding areas along the Sarawak River were flooded due to continuous rain and high tide.
The rising water level caused many damages to the properties.
