LUBOK ANTU: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg was briefed by four agencies during his inaugural visit to Lubok Antu-Nanga Badau Customs, Immigration, Quarantine and Security Complex (CIQSC) today.

Arriving at 10.30am, he was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing; State Secretary Datuk Amar Jaul Samion; Assistant Minister of International Trade and Industry, Industrial Terminal and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Malcolm Mussen Lamoh, and Lubok Antu MP Jugah Muyang.

It was part of his one-day working visit to the district.

The briefing began with a sharing session by Sarawak Immigration director Datuk Ken Leben followed by Sarawak Customs director Herman Shah Abdullah, General Operations Force (PGA) 10th Battalion Commanding Officer Superintendent Muhammad Hafiz Kadir, and Kuching Port Authority (KPA) general manager Robert Lau.

After that, Abang Johari held a brief question-and-answer session before surveying the complex.

He spontaneously approved RM3 million in response to the Immigration Department’s request to install street lights along the road from Lubok Antu town to the complex.

The control post was then replaced with the current complex built on 17.5 hectares from Oct 21, 2010 to Feb 20, 2012 at a cost of RM13 million.
