Tatau police seek cooperation of the public to track down Franky

TATAU: Police are looking for a theft suspect who failed to turn up for trial in the mobile court bus of Tatau District Police Headquarters (IPD) on January 24.

Tatau police chief DSP Jame Reis said the male suspect being tracked down was identified as Franky Lasan, 37, of Rumah Jiram, Sungai Gemuan, Tatau.

According to him, on October 29, 2021, the suspect was charged in the Bintulu Court under Section 414 of the Penal Code (KK). However, he failed to attend the court on the date and time set.

“Immediately, the Bintulu Court issued an arrest warrant against Franky for failing to appear on the day of the trial,” he said.

He added that on January 24, the suspect again failed to appear in the Bintulu Magistrate’s mobile court bus at the Tatau IPD, causing the arrest warrant against him to be extended until he was arrested.

On December 27, 2019 at Rumah Jiram Sungai Gemuan, the suspect and his accomplices were arrested for the theft of a solar flashing arrow and a solar street light near Rumah Empaling in Jalan Tatau-Sibu and this case is being investigated under Section 379 KK.
