MIRI: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Senadin branch yesterday unveiled a 10 feet tall and 15 feet wide banner with the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) logo in Permyjaya here.

SUPP Senadin chairman cum Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin officiated at the event.

Lee said they chose January 19 to unveil the banner to mark GPS’s first anniversary.

“Today (yesterday) marks the first anniversary of the formation of GPS comprising Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), Progressive Democratic Party (PDP), SUPP and Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS).

“This logo will remind the people that the GPS state government is fighting for the state’s rights and the people of Sarawak,” he said.

Lee mentioned the various initiatives implemented by the State government under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

“Various programmes that benefit the rakyat have been implemented by the State government, such as the endowment fund scheme for new born babies… RM450 worth of vouchers for new mothers and the latest we have introduced the Kenyalang Gold Card (KGC) for senior citizens,” he said.
