The foreigners caught trying to enter Sarawak illegally by GOF personnel.

LUNDU: An attempt by four Indonesians to enter Sarawak illegally was thwarted by the General Operations Force (GOF) on Saturday (Dec 19).

GOF Sarawak Brigade commander SAC Mancha Ata said the incident happened around 5.50pm at Kampung Raso near the Sarawak-Indonesia border.

A GOF team spotted and detained the four men who were on two motorcycles and believed to be trying to enter the state through a rat trail.

“Inspections found only two of them had valid travel documents while the other two failed to show any valid entry permit documents to Malaysia.

“As a result, the men were ordered to return to their country of origin using the same route,” he said.

The foreigners have committed offences under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342) and Section 6 (1) of the Immigration Act 1959 (Act 155).

Mancha stressed that the GOF Brigade remained committed to monitoring active rat trails and illegal routes to foil any attempts by foreigners to enter the state illegally.
