BETONG: The Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Betong Zone mini convention rehearsal today received a good turnout from local PBB branch and sub-branch members.

According to PBB Women chief Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, this indicated that PBB and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) as a whole are receiving good support from the local community.

She said this when met at the convention’s rehearsal show held at Dewan Tan Sri Stephen Kalong Ningkan, here today.

On the rehearsal, Fatimah said she was pleased with the overall preparation by the organising committee.

“I think it is very good and well-prepared. As for the choir and performances, it can be seen that they are very highly-spirited,” she commented after attending a rehearsal for the choir performances.

Layar assemblyman Gerald Rentap Jabu who was accompanying Fatimah, said 642 delegates from 14 PBB branches would attend the mini convention on Saturday.

“Other state dignitaries and delegates will also be joining us tomorrow (Saturday), bringing the numbers close to 700 persons.

“This is close to 80 percent of the hall capacity,” he revealed.

Rentap assured that all Covid-19 pandemic standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines would be adhered to at all times throughout the convention.

“This will be our challenge,” he added.
