KUCHING: From Americano to café latte, or long black to cold brew, coffee has been a staple for many Sarawakians.

And Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor, Datuk Wee Hong Seng has praised HWC Coffee, Malaysia’s first specialty coffee chain, for launching their exclusive ‘Rasa-Kuih Raya’ series coffee flavours.

“When we talk about coffee, there are a lot of other brands in town, but I’m very happy to see HWC launch their Raya-Kuih flavour today and this shows that they are on the right footing,” he said.

Wee said these exclusive and innovative flavours in conjunction with Hari Raya, are a testament to Sarawak’s culture and harmony.

“Sarawak has the largest number of ethnic groups in Malaysia, and this is also a selling point of our culture, to showcase and understand the different cultures, so we can continue to live in harmony and respect for one another,” he said.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of HWC Coffee, Zenda Ng took time out to shed light on the Raya-Kuih series.

“We’re excited to introduce our newest offering, the Rasa-Kuih Raya Series which includes, Golden Corn and Rice Caffe Latte (Kopi Kuih Jagung), Blue Rice Kaya Milk (Pulut Tai Tai) and Pandan Coconut Rice Milk (Seri Muka Pandan),” she said.

On top of that, HWC Coffee launched the Bottled Series, bringing convenience and ready-to-drink coffee for Iftar and Sahur during Ramadan.

“These drinks are inspired by the rich flavours of Nyonya cuisine and the festive vibe of Hari Raya, this series brings a delightful selection of drinks that capture the essence of traditional treats,” she said.

Additionally, customers indulging in any drink from the series are invited to join the ‘JOM! Buy & Win’ contest by making purchases exceeding RM25 on a single receipt.

Winners of the contest stand to win prizes including the latest models of motorcycles, iPhones, smartphones, and many more.

“I hope that HWC Coffee will continue their creativity and make a good stand for their brand,” said Wee.

HWC Coffee has established its presence in Kuching with four locations, including the Spring shopping mall, Cuckoo Cafe by HWC Coffee, Tabuan Tranquility, and Vivacity Megamall.
