Illegal firecrackers seized, man held

KUCHING: Firecrackers worth RM42,030 were seized from a premises during an anti-smuggling operation carried out by the General Operation Force (GOF) on May 17 in Sibu.

The team confiscated 934 boxes of assorted celebration cake repeater firecrackers at the premises.

A local man who said he owned the premises was unloading boxes of firecrackers at the time.

The owner was arrested and the items sized for further investigations.
