MIRI: An Indonesian woman was detained by police for allegedly involved in illegal lottery activities last Sunday.

Miri Police chief, ACP Khoo Leng Huat said acting on information received, a police team from Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) raided a premises at Jalan Cina here at around 4.25pm.

He said during the raid, an Indonesian woman in her 30s was arrested and police also seized a digital printer, a mobile phone, three pieces of paper believed to be betting slips and RM407 in cash.

Khoo said the suspect and seized items were brought to Miri Central Police Station for further action.

“The suspect is detained under Section 4A (a) of the Open Gaming House Act, 1953,” he added.
