MIRI: A new drain has been completed to replace an old drain behind the Grand Park here that collapsed due to erosion recently.

Last Tuesday (Feb 9) state Minister of Transport Datuk Lee Kim Shin, who is also Senadin assemblyman, visited the site.

The project is under Senadin’s Rural Transformation Project (RTP) 2020 and was undertaken by Miri City Council (MCC).

During the visit MCC engineers and the contractor brief Lee on the RM200,000 project.

Lee also visited another RTP 2020 project under his constituency at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Merbau today (Feb 10).

The project carried out by MCC comprised a concrete footpath from a drop-off zone along several of the school’s classrooms and a corridor complete with an awning.

The project that cost RM50,000 also included the laying of tiles for which the school authority was very thankful.

Lee was accompanied during his visit to the school by headmaster Jemali Len, Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) chairman Felicia Kalang and his committee members as well as Miri City Council’s engineering staff members.
