KUCHING: Pakatan Harapan (PH) Federal government must rethink and review the amendment of the Article 1(2) of the Federal Constitution.

Political analyst Datuk Peter Minos said the proposed amendment lacks both the words and spirit of MA63.

“It looks like a big trick, and it is not honestly and sincerely done,” he told New Sarawak Tribune yesterday.

He said that was why leaders from Sarawak and Sabah made the decision to go against it.

“Both Borneo states are fed up with the Federal government’s game and tricks and do not want to be conned anymore as in the past,” he said.

Minos said if PH really wants to accord Sabah and Sarawak equal partnership rights, it should write the amendment to reflect that.

“If they can’t even express themselves precisely and concisely, how are we to believe that we will have one third each in all sectors … our wealth, our resources, national finance, representation in parliament, civil service, agencies, police, army and judiciary,” he pointed out.
